WHEN you read this statement, what thoughts did it provoke?

I started to wonder where do all the positive or negative emotions that you have come from.

Are you dealing with stress, anxiety, grief, anger, addictions, weight loss, unresolved issues, limiting beliefs…?  All of these issues / feelings / thoughts can be considered negative emotions.

These negative emotions can become stuck – like a hamster going around and around on its wheel – and fester as your body internalizes them into various energy patterns.

My research or ‘googling’ brought me to the Tapping Solution Website. Nick Ortner talks about energy and Tapping and uses the terms EFT and Tapping interchangeably.

Emotional Freedom Techniques – (EFT or Tapping) is a blend of ancient Chinese acupuncture and modern psychology. It seems that there has been a renewed interest in their power and effectiveness.

What Is Tapping?

EFT or Tapping is a simple technique that you can use to help yourself deal with that negative energy or emotional stress which might be due to unresolved issues or limiting beliefs.

Tapping can help you release negative emotions through tapping on meridian energy points in various different spots on your body. It is similar to acupuncture without the needles.

EFT or Tapping is based on the theory that energy systems run throughout the body in pathways called meridians. EFT works within your body’s energy / meridian system. When you Tap energy in these meridians are stimulated and this activates your body’s healing process.

Your body, your mind and your emotions are all working together. Your thoughts and beliefs are simply energy or vibrations. This energy or vibration is thought to be attached to your emotions.

Gary Craig, the founder of EFT says that “the cause of all negative emotions is a disruption in the body’s energy system”.

When you Tap you use your fingertips and tap on “specific meridian endpoints”

According to Nick Ortner, founder of The Tapping Solution, there are basically 2 things happening at the same time when you Tap: 1 You are tapping with your fingertips and 2 you are mentally ‘tuning in’ to your negative emotions or physical issues.

The tapping is thought to “calm your nervous system, rewire the brain to respond in healthier ways, and restore the body’s balance of energy.”

I tried a couple of Jessica Ortner’s tapping exercises on Youtube and found the process very easy to learn. The best part is that EFT or Tapping can be done anytime, anywhere! I even found myself tapping while I was driving during an extremely stressful ride home from the bank yesterday!

So basically when you Tap you are ‘breaking’ the link between that emotional reaction and the thought.

On those days when you feel anxious or overwhelmed you can use tapping to break this link. I love the idea that you do not have to rely on just your willpower – which often just doesn’t work for me. How about you – do you have strong willpower?

I have always felt that you sometimes need ‘something’ more than willpower when you are faced with these negative issues. I love that I’ve found Tapping as I think it is just the ‘thing’ I have been missing.

Tapping often will bring balance to your energy systems in your body within minutes for some people.

What Can You Expect:

You can use EFT or Tapping on basically any issue or limiting belief you may be experiencing or need help dealing with. The best thing about Tapping is that it is ‘mostly painless’. When you Tap, you will be asked to briefly recall your negative issue and there may be some feeling of discomfort around that memory.

With EFT or Tapping, you are not reliving the painful memory or situation, but you are identifying it and then working on shifting it something more positive. In fact, Gary Craig states that with “EFT, generating prolonged emotional discomfort is frowned upon.”

How can I apply it

When you feel those negative energies coming on or you are caught up on that ‘hamster wheel” – feeling sad, anxious, depressed, craving that ‘chocolate bar’…. Tapping can help you move forward – put the past in the past and bring you into the present moment.

Tapping is very much like Mindfulness. When you Tap, you are able to move towards calm, peace and joy and you can do this moment to moment and day to day.

I think Tapping is going to be revolutionizing health and wellness in the future. In my opinion, this Eastern medicine based technique is just starting to get the attention it deserves.

I believe your mind and your body are more powerful than you ever thought possible. Your body is full of energy and EFT or Tapping will help you harness that power and help you heal yourself. Tapping helps you take control of the power of your body’s energy!

I like to think of EFT or Tapping as if it were a paint brush. You can use your paint brush to ‘paint your world”! This is so powerful as we have the ability to choose which paint we want to use – positive or negative. EFT or TAPPING can be your paint brush!

My Final Thoughts…

The great thing about EFT or Tapping is that it’s been proven to work on lots of different issues. The list of things is so big that people often say to “Try It On Everything.”

When you practice EFT or Tapping daily you can learn how to gain back that emotional balance and rewire your brain.

    This sounds absolutely wonderful. EFT or Tapping seems like something that we should all be doing. It sounds so perfect!
