What are compression gloves?

Compression gloves are is a type hand garment that provide compression, support, and warmth for your hands, wrists and fingers. These gloves are commonly used in the treatment of a variety of hand and wrist related injuries or illnesses such as arthritis. They are becoming very popular as a non-invasive and non-pharmacological treatment for issues relating to pain and swelling in your hands and wrists. Compression gloves can relieve swelling or pain and help the healing process without causing the side effects of prescription drugs.

Did you know that arthritis can be a debilitating condition that can lead to disability? In the U.S. it is the most common cause of disability according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

If you’re are unfortunate to be one of the many who experiences inflammatory pain or stiffness in your hands, fingers or joints, you may find that even the find simplest tasks can be difficult to perform on a bad day. Things like getting dressed, brushing your teeth, eating or typing an email can be very challenging due to the pain you are experiencing in these areas.

How do compression gloves work?

The theory is that compression provide a gentle pressure that helps improve blood circulation. The gloves keep your hands warm and work as a cushion for your inflamed joints.

Who can benefit from the use of them?

If you find that applying heat, support or pressure helps your pain, stiffness or discomfort feel better, then compression gloves just might be for you! People with illnesses such as Raynaud’s Syndrome, Arthritis, and Carpal Tunnel Syndrome or who have chronic injuries or joint instability have often reported that using compression gloves have helped them relieve their symptoms.

To Recap….The IMAK Arthritis Gloves may not be a good fit for everyone. I do believe they are worth giving a try – if you experience the pain, swelling or stiffness of inflammation, injury or illness. The gloves are an alternative or can be used in conjunction with medication but without the side effects.

Check out this study; results found that: “The hand symptoms such as pain, stiffness and swelling improve substantially when the therapy gloves are used. However, marginal or no improvement in hand function (with the exception of grip strength) linked to the use of therapy gloves is being reported. Further research is needed.”

I believe the IMAK Arthritis gloves are a solid product. I like that they have the backing of the arthritis foundation, medical practitioners, and the customers. They are easy to put on and use and easy to take care of and clean.

Be sure you get a good fit and that they do not fit too tightly as you do not want to cause circulation problems!

If you are looking for a product that will alleviate some of the symptoms that come with arthritis of the hand, fingers or joints, then the IMAK arthritis gloves are a great product to try.
