3 Free Tapping Meditations…

You may have noticed in the past few years, more and more research around meditation and mindfulness is starting to take place. Mindfulness has become more recognized by people around the world and more people have been incorporating it into their daily health and wellness routines.

Have you ever felt something might be missing in your mindfulness or meditation practice?

There are times when I feel that even with all the positive benefits of mindfulness, there are days that I  struggle to get the results I want. How about you, do you ever feel that way?

As you may know if you read my previous articles EFT stands for Emotional Freedom Techniques.

After watching the various speakers through the summit I have a much better understanding of  EFT or tapping.

To recap – The words EFT and Tapping are often used interchangeably and are a way of balancing your energy in relation with something that happens in your life. EFT can involve any of the following emotions  – fear, anger, sadness, frustration, abundance…

Studies show that EFT or Tapping can have a direct effect on your parasympathetic nervous system and can calm your amygdala (the fight/flight/ response center of the brain). Basically,  it reduces the stress you feel towards a particular reaction – In essence it “deactivates your “fight/ flight” reaction.

Last Night I Had A Terrible Sinus Headache 

In the early hours of the morning, I was woken up by a sinus headache. It was about 4 am…a couple hours before I had to get up and get ready go to work. My sinus headache was so strong that it made me feel sick to my stomach.

My very first reaction was to call work and say that I was sick and that I wouldn’t be in, but then I thought…. I wonder if tapping might help.

Part of me was thinking – “I don’t think tapping will be able to help this sinus headache go away”… but still a part of me wanted to give the tapping technique I have been learning about a try.

So I put Tapping to the test… I rated my pain as 15 out of 10!

  • After my first round my sinus pain was at the same level as when I started.
  • After my  second round, the pain was still there but was not as strong. It definitely was reducing.
  • By the end of the 3rd round. the pain was substantially less – about a 2 out of 10. 

Wow! I was amazed! I had little to no  pain and was able to go to work. My sinus pain didn’t return and I made it through my whole day!

How Does EFT Tapping Work?

What I love about EFT or Tapping is that all you need is your hands. You do not have to go out and buy any expensive equipment and you don’t have to go anywhere – like the gym!

Tapping involves you gently tapping on specific meridian acupressure points of your body while you think about what you want to “solve”.  You can use either your left or right, either hand.

As you tap on your issue, you have a bit of freedom… so don’t worry too much if you miss a spot, or add another one… it’s okay, the most important thing is to stay focused on what you are trying to improve.

You can also decide on how many rounds is enough for your particular situation. Many people find they may need several rounds.

  1. I have heard about tapping and have been wondering where to start. I checked out the free Tappiing videos by Jessica and they are awesome. I am so excited as I didn’t expect tapping to be so easy to do!

    1. Hi Becky, I am so glad that you enjoyed the Tapping Summit. This year’s Summit had so many awesome speakers. I am fairly new to Tapping too and am so excited to use the 3 free Tapping meditations by Jessica. I find they are definitely making a difference in my mindfulness practice.
