Can You Heal Your Thyroid?
Check out the Thyroid Summit…
Does Your Thyroid Need A Reset?
Is there such a thing as resetting your thyroid?
Are you or a family member experiencing forgetfulness, difficulty focusing, fatigue, not able to lose weight or having sleeping challenges? These are just a few possible symptoms that might suggest you are having issues with your thyroid. Let’s look at whether you can heal your thyroid.
It seems that one in five women and one in ten men have a thyroid disease. There is a lot of information on the internet and it can be overwhelming. I think it’s important for you to be able to trust your sources. I have come across a wonderful option for you to listen to experts in the field and get access to various resources. More to follow shortly.
What is the thyroid?
Your thyroid is a small butterfly shaped gland in your neck. You can find it just below your Adam’s apple. The thyroid is important because it secretes hormones that affect your metabolism, muscle control, heart and digestive support, body temperature and is important for brain development in babies and children.
Two of the main hormones it secretes are T3, the “active” version, and T4, an ‘inactive’ version. T3 helps your body function on all cylinders so to speak. When working properly it helps keep you thin, and improves your memory among a whole lot of other things.
T4 is converted to T3 when everything is working as it should.
Now the thyroid also works with your hormones – cortisol, insulin and testosterone and progesterone. To make this even more complicated all these hormones are controlled by your brain through the Hypocampus and the Pituitary gland.
I’m not going to go into how all that works but may I say if one part fails you can have a whole host of issues. This can leave you feeling pretty miserable.
What are symptoms of a thyroid that is not functioning properly?
When you have problems with your thyroid you can experience a number of symptoms. Some of these symptoms include but are not limited to are: fatigue, puffy face, rapid heart beat, constipation, dry skin, impaired memory, enlarged goiter, impaired memory and more….
It is important for you to listen to your body. If you are experiencing issues you should check with your Doctor. The American Thyroid Association recommends screening begin at 35 and then every five years after that.
The American Thyroid Association does not recognize complementary or alternative treatments as standard care when it comes to thyroid cancer. However they do state that for patients with other thyroid diseases standard care may include thyroid hormone suppression of supplementation.
It does recognize complementary care if used in conjunction with standard care according to the The National Institutes of Health National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine (NIH NCCAM). This is defined as “complementary medicine as being used along with standard medical treatments, and alternative medicine as being used in place of standard medical treatments. Integrative medicine is a comprehensive approach to care that includes a patients’ mind body and spirit; this combines standard medicine with CAM practices”.
Some of these practices may include yoga, meditation, vitamins and herbs, Naturopathy, Chinese Medicine and more.
There’s so much I want to know and learn. Is thyroid disease genetic or is it a result of your environment? Can what you eat or your lifestyle affect your thyroid? Can you heal your thyroid?
I’ll be honest, I do not know a lot about thyroid disease. However, my son has recently been diagnosed with issues that sound thyroid related. I’m on a mission to find out more about thyroid issues and how to deal with them.
Recently I found The Thyroid Reset Summit that starts tomorrow. You read that right – tomorrow March 4th. It is a free Summit from March 4-10th.
I can’t believe how much information there is out on the internet. I actually find it quite overwhelming. That’s why I’m so glad that I can share this event with you. Most traditional doctors, recommend medications, surgery, or radiation and these can be good things and may be just what you need.
However, I’m always on the side or the fence where I want to try to take care of issues as naturally as I can. This summit brings together many of the experts in the field. I am excited to listen to their talks to see what options there are for those experiencing thyroid issues.
I wish I had seen it sooner so I could have given you more of a heads up. There’s still time, although not much, for you to get the discounted deal on a package of video talks, transcripts, ebooks and more…
